Snapdragon SDK for Windows PC

Qualcomm Technologies has announced the commercial availability of the Snapdragon SDK for Windows on Snapdragon PCs.

The Snapdragon SDK debuted during the company’s virtual announcement this summer. It is an ultra-small, cost-effective device designed for independent software and application vendors to test and validate their solutions.

With this resource, Qualcomm Technologies and Microsoft are lowering the barrier to entry for ISVs determined to optimize their application experience on the growing Always On, Always Connected (ACPC) PC portfolio. This unit will help advance the Windows ecosystem on Snapdragon and, in turn, deliver superior experiences for end users, as the apps harness the full capabilities of Snapdragon compute platforms, Qualcomm said.

Qualcomm says the kit is helping accelerate development efforts as more Snapdragon-powered PCs are released around the world from leading manufacturers such as Acer, ASUS, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, and Samsung. This SDK will help back-end developers port applications by enabling increased power and performance optimizations through native Windows 10 and Windows 11 ARM64 applications designed to use the specialized architecture of Snapdragon compute platforms. Application developers who use this ultra-compact mini PC can increase optimization or create new PC experiences for their users.

“With this Snapdragon development kit, Qualcomm Technologies is extending support for independent software vendors,” said Rami Husseini, director of product management for Qualcomm Technologies.

“With a shared commitment to supporting developers, Qualcomm Technologies and Microsoft are expanding our catalog of developer resources to better enable developers to optimize their application experiences across the Always On, Always Connected PC portfolio powered by Snapdragon. This small, affordable unit will help advance the Windows ecosystem on Snapdragon, facilitating new and superior experiences with Snapdragon compute platforms.

“This Snapdragon SDK is a testament to the close collaboration between Microsoft and Qualcomm Technologies,” said Hari Pulapaka, program manager for Microsoft’s Windows Partner Group.

“We recognize that application optimization, coupled with the innovation and efficiency of Snapdragon compute platforms, will enrich the lives of users who rely on Snapdragon compute-powered PCs for learning, work and play. . We are proud to extend support for Windows developers with the availability of the Snapdragon SDK.

“It’s an exciting time to be at Zoom, where the pace of innovation continues to accelerate,” said Eric Yu, Head of Hardware Partnership at Zoom. “The Snapdragon SDK easily integrates into Zoom’s test environment and optimizes Windows performance on Snapdragon. With more and more organizations adopting a hybrid work model, the integration of Snapdragon for Zoom is another way to help customers meet the demands of today’s evolving virtual and hybrid landscape.

The Snapdragon SDK is now available in the US for $ 219.00 through the Microsoft Store here.
