Gundam Evolution Gameplay Broadcast closed beta demo
Bandai Namco hosted the first online show for Evolution of Gundam gameplay on July 17, 2021. The pre-recorded program provided an overview of the team-based first-person shooter combat game by showing gameplay from the closed beta test version.
The closed beta test will include 12 mobile suits currently listed on the official website: RX-78-2 Gundam, Guntank, GM, Pale Rider, GM Sniper II, Methuss, Zaku II, Sazabi, Dom Trooper, Asshimar, Gundam Barbatos and Turn one Gundam. The first version will also come with three step rules:
- Point capture – The attack team will attempt to capture the targeted locations in order within a time limit. The teams will switch sides in the next round.
- Domination – Both teams will accumulate points by occupying specified locations marked randomly over time.
- Destruction – The offensive team will attempt to destroy the specified targets within a specified time. Just like Point Capture, teams will switch roles in the next round.
Bandai Namco Online Designed Evolution of Gundam in a way that allows first person shooter esports players to enjoy the game even without knowing too much about the mecha franchise. The two Japanese professional esports players invited to the show did not know Gundam. However, they have always performed remarkably well in the gameplay demo segment.
Evolution of Gundam will be available as a free-to-play PC game in 2022 in Japan and many other parts of the world. Bandai Namco will host the first official closed beta test for Evolution of Gundam in Japan on August 8 and 9, 2021.
