Who is in the cast of COBRA?
Robert Sutherland, Prime Minister – Performed by Robert Carlyle
Robert spoke about the character from season two during a press question-and-answer session.
“Obviously, there was an election and its majority was drastically reduced. He has to form some kind of ally with David Haig’s wonderful Archie Glover-Morgan, which he does, which is obviously a problem for Anna Marshall because these two really don’t get along, ”he said. -he explains.
“His personal life is what is perhaps the most interesting thing for me, this is where he was with his wife and daughter because there was obviously a problem with lying in parliament with his wife and daughter. girl who were potentially going to go to jail for it, but they didn’t – his daughter is now in Chile and his wife is trying to come to terms with all this life. He wants to be there [in power] but I think his wife is struggling.
He also told BT.com: “He has a very strong moral compass. He has a sense of what’s right and what’s not. He absolutely respects the rule of law and that’s what it is. that it is.
“But one of the things I respect about Sutherland is that he’s just as pragmatic and capable. He’ll make quick decisions. He gets mad. He gets angry and he cracks and he can. making rash decisions as a result of that. But that makes them all the most human. “

Robert Carlyle: COBRA season 2 “the most difficult shoot I’ve ever been on”
Anna Marshall, Chief of Staff – Played by Victoria Hamilton
Victoria said of Anna this season: “She’s back in the thick of it where she wants to be.
“The personal side is one of the most interesting things for me. Ben [Richards, the writer] also had the courage to write a woman who not only faced divorce and also great loss in the first two episodes, but also menopause through it all, which I think he wrote with brio. I think anyone living with a postmenopausal woman will recognize some of the outbursts as maybe not purely professional.
“But she’s back where she wants to be and it’s very similar to the first series. I love playing it because the professional and personal side-by-side management is an incredibly difficult thing to write and move this thriller forward.

Archie Glover-Morgan, Minister of Foreign Affairs – Performed by David Haig
David said of Archie in the second season: “He has resigned as Home Secretary, but what is immediately interesting about the character is that the country is facing a different crisis and when there is a crisis, he wants to be at the center of things. Yes, he thirsts for power, but at the same time, if there is a national crisis, he wants to be part of the crucial decision-making.
“So when cyber warfare and the offshore explosion happens, it comes to Bobby [Carlyle]The character of ‘open hand in a way and say “please put me back in the center – you are going to miss my influence”.
“It’s an arrogant position that he’s very capable of having, but at the same time, I think he knows its use. He knows he has experience and is useful in the center of power.

Joseph Obasi, Minister of the Interior – Performed by Richard Pepple
Richard told BT.com that he enjoys the challenge of playing his character.
“I saw him a lot as this new face of conservatism, and there are a lot of young politicians that you can look at across the political spectrum who represent this face of change for whatever party they may be affiliated with.
“I think that’s what I was looking for – this youthful exuberance filled with hope and confidence. And there were a few politicians, especially those coming in today.”

Will there be a COBRA season 3?
There is no confirmed Season 3 yet, but star Robert Carlyle told BT.com he is hopeful.
Robert said: “I hope so. This whole world… the writing, the casting – people like Victoria [Hamilton], David [Haig], Richard [Pepple], it’s just a fantastic job.
“It’s one of the best games I’ve ever had – so I would definitely be interested in doing another season.
“There’s no question there’s room for more, whatever. Will it be an alien invasion next time? Who knows what could top that – it’s obviously very difficult, but if anyone can do it, Ben [Richards, the writer] can.
“I think what this show has for it is that there’s really nothing else like it. There are plenty of other shows where you can say, “Well, it’s kind of like that, it’s kind of like that.” You can’t really say that COBRA is a bit like anything. I think that’s his strength. I think it’s a great show, and I would be happy to do more of it.
